Information: Every year Nebraska
volleyball gets more and more competitive. Even
at the middle school grade level it is very apparent
off-season work is vital in order to become competitive
now and in the high school years. March Madness is an
alternative specifically designed for seventh and eighth
grade athletes. This camp will add game experience,
help the athlete become more competitive, and allow them
to play at a higher level.
This camp is not intended to replace any individual camp
because mastery of fundamental skills is extremely
important, but rather it will work hand in hand with the
mastery of fundamental skills in producing an athlete
with the needed court time and game experience.
Minimum number of team members accepted is eight.
Borrowing an additional team member from another grade
level, team, or town is acceptable.
Camp tee shirts will be available.
Lodging information is available on request.
Officials and scorekeepers are provided.
Twenty teams maximum will be allowed to participate in
this event. Each team will play approximately 12 games
before the tournament begins. It begins on Friday night
with a coaches’ meeting followed by pool play throughout
the evening and Saturday morning. Over the noon hour
teams will be divided into a gold, silver, and bronze
tournament division. Tournament play will begin at
approximately 1:00 p.m. Medals will be awarded for the
first three places in gold, silver, and bronze
divisions.
